Sample Anniversary Speeches

Here is a technique for speech writing, take a subject which on the face of it has nothing to do with what you are talking about and then weave the two together. The other subject might have some special meaning for the couple, but doesn’t have to.

Sample Anniversary Speeches are almost impossible to find on the internet however I am going to give you a real life example ( and because I wrote it I am saying feel free to use it/ adapt it/ mess about with it or just ignore it all together – even better, please just improve it ! )

The scene is an anniversary party…..

Ladies Gentlemen boys girls,

Firstly a big welcome from ( …..& I & the rest of the family ) to what is intended to be a very relaxed and informal evening.

We are here to celebrate a relationship that has for the last ( X) years given so much joy and happiness - - AND - I guess we could sum up our collective view of their (X) years of marriage in one word - Partnership

Great partnerships are wonderful things and evidence of great partnerships can be found all around us

....... And so I wasnt surprised when even in my tool box the other day I found a set of instructions for adhesive of all things. . . You know the kind that comes in two separate tubes….

And, When I read these instructions I couldnt help but notice how they could almost describe this marriage - - indeed I thought might even make a great and very fitting toast .

- To form a strong bond that will last the test of time please follow these instructions carefully

- First take the Tube Marked A and remove its cap ( it doesnt say anything about a scarf - just a cap)

- Mix with Tube B until a fine consistency is achieved and ... firmly press both sides together

- For best results form the bond in a warm and dry atmosphere ( for your information I believe they chose Palm Springs)

- Keep both tubes safely away from children (they failed on that one)

- and finally ( and somewhat worryingly ) always work in a well ventilated area

Ladies & gentlemen, Boys and Girls - This is a bond that has well and truly passed the test of time
